TULUM TRAVEL DIARY

This week-long vacation to Tulum in June was my favorite. Each day felt like a dream waking up to beautiful sunrises just steps from our room. My first visit to this dreamy place was with my family 8 years ago. Each trip since has been so amazing, the vibe of this beach town is the reason why it's become such a trendy destination. Tulum is the most magical beach town with postcard perfect turquoise waters, palmy views + jungle nooks in every corner, pink and blue sunrises, secret cenotes, open-air restaurants and the cutest boutique hotels on the beach. I've listed a little guide below of places to visit and captured my favorite moments in still + video to inspire you to take that much needed beach escape.

WHERE TO STAY / EAT / PLAY:

  • Our comfortable sustainable accommodations had ocean-front views with amazing sunrises. Hammocks were plentiful and sustainability is practiced in this resort. COCO TULUM nails the clean black and white aesthetic and their all-white beach bar is not surprisingly one of the most liked photos on my feed.

  • COQUI COQUI is a beautiful hotel, boutique, restaurant and perfumery. Purchased a handmade linen dress and lots of edible, fragrant souvenirs for friends back in LA. Enjoyed delish fresh ceviche, juice, chips & guacamole served by the sea. Unfortunately, a week after we got back to LA, there was a land dispute and this Coqui Coqui location is indefinitely closed.

  • PAPAYA PLAYA PROJECT is a popular hotel and wedding destination venue. Order lunch with a smoothie or coconut and take a swing with an ocean view.

  • There are hundreds of CENOTES in Mexico. It's a must to visit at least once. The minerals in the water literally turn your skin into the softest baby's butt.

  • TULUM RUINS is also incredibly beautiful. Very touristy on most days, but worth the visit.

  • Eat at HARTWOOD, CASA BANANA,  POSADA MARGHERITA, BURRITO AMOR, and TULUM ART CLUB for coffee.
